Bernstein tosses the folder to Bronski, his manner insultingly polite.
Perfectly calculated; his partner's cheeks redden but he says nothing.
Scribbles his case notes, trying not to look at the picture of Lene on his desk.

He's always like this, afterwards. Guido's getting sick of it, this relentless
insistence that Nothing Happened. Because it did, and it has, and it'll
keep on bloody happening until Bronski makes up his mind.

It's all so bloody banal. They're fighting, over what? A look, a word,
a shiver at an unexpected touch.

Guido's not used to men with something to lose.
