Jamie's hair is bleached by his time in the Whitsundays.
The youthful look sits oddly on him, matured as he
is by the decisions they make routinely and in secret.
His shoulders tell of hope and resignation, an unraised voice.

Hap has nothing to lose now; Jamie has never risked anything,
and yet their manner remains offensively casual. They are
seldom alone, never for long, and do not seek to be.

Amanda puts the tension down to someone's failure to
perform; Layla knows better. She is careful not to see
the flinch both fail to hide when someone mentions Robyn.
